Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Chapter 6: Tangled Fates   Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 EmptyTue Jul 04, 2017 7:58 am

Several Kilometers outside Silent Hall a large Form headed towards the recent Battlefield.  It was a large Gatorqin.  He was Seven feet tall and on his back was a large Wok.  He carried a large bag in one hand a bag for holding the grisly ingredients the Scavanger was headed out to collect.

Several hours before he had been cooking in the tavern when the Cooks who came before sent him inspiration in the form of survivors talking of the massacre.  He had headed out right away to collect ingredients for his meals.

He let out a sigh, as he was cooking for Humes he had best not collect any human ingredients.  Unlike his people most races had a "Thing" about eating their own kind and let the meat rot in the ground.  "tho if i were find some Tastieeer meats I could always make  me some jambalaya or a good gumbo, or even some manwhiches to go"  the Gator man thought to himself slightly salivating at the thought.  yeah that was the best bet,  Grab some goood meats the others wouldn't find repulsive while he honored the fallen on the field in a solemn ceremony himself.

But first he had to find the place the people in the tavern had spoken of.  Taking a deep breath his nostrils flared as he began searching for the scent of blood,  where there was blood he would find the ingredients he needed.

Chapter 6: Tangled Fates

Silenthall
Quest: The Town of Fog

#TheTownofFog #Chapter6 @Durzan @Luc Seifer @Overly Shedding Chocobo @Bozz

Night time. Fry eventually reached his destination. Countless bodies lay mangled and devoured on the open field. It was dark but his gatorqin eyes could see well in this kind of lighting. There were several Ramoan Soldiers equipped with torches searching the are for survivors, it would be ideal for Fry to stay clear from them.

Most of the corpses reeked of poison, from the venom of the creatures that attacked them, but the venom can be rid off if boiled long enough at high temperatures. Some of the corpses belonged to middle class types of people, this meant an upgrade from commoners and peasants that Fry was used to cooking. Some had a lot of fat, a perfect source of energy, and other were as thin as sticks.

Also none of the corpses looked fresh save for one. There was a body laying in the field covered in mud. He was still alive, but his pulse was faint and could be mistaken for dead easily. Beside him was what looked like a PETRIFIED SWORD, the boy had a death grip on the thing and won't let go. This would all be an easy fix, all Fry had to do was chop off the boy's fingers or hand.

Fry didn't have a lot of time to find all the meat ingredients he needed because the Ramoan soldiers were closing in on his location. He needed to decide which ones he will take with him back to his kitchen.

Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Chapter 6: Tangled Fates   Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 EmptyTue Jul 04, 2017 9:27 am

Frye Dropped to his belly as he approached, he could smell the meat and it was driving him crazy, Humans just had a smell to them.  It was what drove ten percent of his race into a feral state if Humes moved to close to his people.  But he was an older gatorqin well passed adolescence, and he was blessed by the cooks who came before so he could easily shrug the frenzy his people felt off. Movement was slow on his belly but he would be harder to see then a giant seven foot beast.  However he still didn't have much time.

He decided to grab the freshest take.  He slowly approached the corpse with hungry intent,  As he moved he also grabbed bits and pieces lying about.  It seemed he would not be getting any ingredients for the tavern.  But as he approached the man he decided he would do this fallen warrior the honor of becoming a decent soup.  Looking at the Man he was saddened, this looked to be an honorable warrior one deserving of a more epic final stand, But he would give him a proper send off.  "I'm sorry yar history endds in thas heare place,  But i will do you right as rain.  Boil that thar poisen outa yar veins and spice you witha some adobo."  Frye thought as he grabbed him by the leg and began dragging him off to his campsite outside town.

As a Gatorqin he was uncomfortable in human settlements and when not working as a cook and listening to the goings on of the world he would sleep in a cook tent outside the cities he lived in.  It was a good ways away,  but it had a large enough pot to boil this fallen hero.  So trying to keep clear of Soldiers he began the task of dragging the meat home for the cooking.

Chapter 6: Tangled Fates

Silenthall
Quest: The Town of Fog

#TheTownofFog #Chapter6 @Durzan @Luc Seifer @Overly Shedding Chocobo @Bozz

Fry, with his freshly scavenged meat, was able to quietly sneak away from the soldiers patrolling the area. The human weighed less than nothing compared to what Fry was used to carrying, allowing him to move quickly. However, there are other things patrolling the massacre site other than the Ramoan infantry. Dark beings called the Shade spotted Fry and began to slowly follow him.

Shades are shadow creatures that can move without making any sound, meaning they are excellent sneak predators. They are able to moved in complete darkness with ease. First there was only one of them, then two, then four, then eight. They moved closer and closer to Fry without him knowing until Fry felt something tug on his tail. At first he thought he might have gotten it stuck, but then he felt a burning sensation at the tip of his tail. A closer inspection revealed that something had grabbed on to his tail, a Shade. It was crawling on the floor like a hound, pulling Fry into the darkness.

As he looked around, Fry noticed that there were more of the dark creatures steadily approaching him. These things were afraid of light, but if Fry were to use magic or light a torch, he would only alert the Ramoan Soldiers of his presence.

CHALLENGE EVENT!!

Flee from the Shades! Fry must roll the Challenge Dice 5 times and get at least 3 Checks in order to escape from the Shades.

PostSubject: Re: Chapter 6: Tangled Fates   Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 EmptyTue Jul 04, 2017 2:27 pm

Frye Looked at the horde of Shades rapidly surrounding him.  These were creatures he did not want to face in a fight, Not this many and definitely not at night.  He let out a sigh and grumbled under his breath "Dag-nabbit.  Ornery abominations in the dark and yall aint not even good ateing."  For a moment Frye considered tossing his haul at them as a distraction.  But by his reckoning they would prefer Seven hundred pounds of living meat over this dead morsel here.  He edged away from them looking for a chance to break away from them.

He watched intently his eyes while not as skillful as theirs were still quite adept at handling the darkness.  still on his belly he waited eagerly.  Preparing himself.  he slowly stood eyeing up his Hunters.  He had to chuckle, it wasn't often he found himself the prey.  He lifted up his catch and threw it over his shoulders as they advanced on him.  Then as soon as he saw what looked to be a big enough hole to fit through, he began moving forward full speed keeping a tight hold of the corpse.

Aiming to head away from the shades and the search party he put his head down and barreled through.  He planned to keep moving as long as he could towards his tent.  Once there he was certain the light of a fire and his charmed spices would be enough to ward them off.  As he rushed, he just hoped he lost them.  He wasn't going to risk looking back until he had to.

FRYE "THE CROC~!"
Quest Title: "Fresh Buns"

There were a lot of Shades in that area which was very strange. Weren't Shades attracted to "LIFE~?" That was a field full of dead people~ what in blazes were life sucking monsters doing in a place like that~? It makes absolutely no fucking sense~ Unless they were being drawn towards DEATHBRINGER~, the mystical demon artifact in Sylvan's possession. Obviously~ Sylvan was the person Frye picked up, no one else in that place would be holding on to elongated stone like it was their life line. He's probably still pretending to fight his demons in his dreams~ But without spilling the blood of the innocent, DEATHBRINGER was just a useless piece of stone. Did Sylvan know this~? Maybe~ It doesn't really matter tho, because Sylvan doesn't have what it takes to wake the demon in the sword.

Frye, the CROCODILIAN BOY WONDER, was indeed attacked by Shades~! Obviously~ because Sylvan had a demon sword~ But~ fatty fat fat did manage to escape from the amassing death seekers via hiding inside his little tea house like a frightened lizard~ Now that those bothersome Shades are out of the way there was nothing stopping the big belly'd Crocqin from eating his meal.

The human meat did look spoiled tho, like in a rich family type of way. Sylvan is a Earthling and on Earth they had lots of chemicals added in their food, tons of products used on their skin, etc... etc... In a nut shell, Sylvan could potentially be a new flavor~! But like in all humans, Sylvan's armpits smelled so bad it made Frye's nose cringe~! The human also had lice all over his head and his pubic region. He smelled worse than a dead guy, which is something large lizards loved~!

MARLOW "The Half breed", "One-Horned" Durzan, Luc "The Mad Dog"
Quest Title: "Quiet Town of Fog"

One horn thought he could take on four Ramies on his own~ As a result he got his ass handed to him~ All Delvas share this typical trait~ they are so full of pride that it overflows~ often getting in the way of their better judgement~ Had it not been for the Half breed, Durzan's face would be hanging in the wall of the Captain's house where his daughter would throw knives at it just for fun.~ With the four gents taken care of, Marlow and Durzan now had some time to themselves~

Meanwhile~ While the Mad Dog was getting his beauty sleep~ the guy guarding his room suddenly fell on the ground~ DEAD~ His blood spilled out fro his body and into Luc's room via the small gap between the door and the floorboards. The door to Luc's room opens and a dark figure steps in.~

He who is without....

(is being stalked)

Even in this cold snowy night Luc sweated profusely on his bed. As he slept, he is haunted by the memories of the Delvas he has killed. He twisted, turned and gritted his teeth in the pain and anguish he suffered in his dreams. He battled with two thousand souls raging in his mind in what seemed like an eternity. "You all deserve to die!" he yelled inside his mind as he ripped the apparitions apart one by one with his bare hands. Just like in real life, Luc bathed in blood in his dreams.

His nightmares are probably what fueled the power of Silent Hall's monster, but Luc is unaware of this and the monster's existence. The loud thud from the guard falling down the floor was enough to slightly wake Luc from his nightmare. When he heard the door open, Luc also opened his eyes. He saw a dark figure walking towards him. He felt it's hunger, it's rage, it's desire to become whole. These were the same feelings Luc had been experiencing all his life. Without another thought, Luc sprung out from his bed with his new and improved Saber Orb and slashed away at the creature.

Marlow watched in Durzan's direction. The man would surely live, thanks to his actions, but was it really worth the life of four soldiers? He was still a boy, and he'd surely have nightmares about his homicides later. For now, he began to pick the various arrows and throwing weapons out of his body, wrapping his wounds from the battle quickly. He'd be good as new in a bit, but for now, he felt tired; he'd just had a battle.

A noise attracted his attention below. He'd been on the roof of Luc's room the whole time he'd fought the soldiers. Looking, he was able to see a dark liquid pool outside of Luc's door.

Marlow did an improptu acrobatics trick, hanging upside down from the roof in order to peer inside the window. "Hey it's me...", he whispered at Luc, trying to call to him, but wary of being hurt, as Luc seemed alarmed, if not crazed.

Chapter 6: Tangled Fates

Silenthall
Quest: The Town of Fog

#TheTownofFog #Chapter6 @Durzan @Luc Seifer @Overly Shedding Chocobo @Bozz

When Luc hoped out of his bed and when Marlow entered the room, the dark figure suddenly vanishes like smoke. Luc's attacks almost hit Marlow but the half man half elf, was light on his feet and managed to get away. The walls, the floor and the ceiling however, suffered the wrath of Luc's rage. His blade cleaved straight through the roof and the concrete walls. There was no telling what would've happened to Marlow had he been hit by one of Luc's attacks.

Their reunion seemed more aggressive than friendly. Luc was different since Marlow last saw him, he had gotten stronger a lot stronger. It was evident in the size and consistency of his energy blade. It had a more defined shape and broader in size. Also his appearance seem darker and more brooding than before.

While the two of them are getting reacquainted, alarms started sounding off. The regimen, sent to track down the Delvas who fled towards the mountains, had returned. They found the dried up corpses of their fellow soldiers scattered all over the town. The only place left with a light was the house where Marlow, Luc, and Durzan are currently in. A single soldier arrived at the scene and saw the dead soldier outside of Luc's room and then they saw Marlow and Luc inside the room. With the real culprit out of sight, the soldiers instantly blame Luc and Marlow for the deaths of their comrades. He pulls out his whistle and starts blowing on it forcefully. The other soldiers were alerted and began running towards the house.

Meanwhile, Durzan was left in the room where Marlow slaughtered the Captain and his mates. He was injured but he could still ambulate properly. There were stocks of swords and weapons used by the Ramoan army in the next room. Durzan could easily take of the weapons to replace his rusty sword, and then he could escape before he's found out by the reinforcements.

In a dark alley, somewhere in town, the dark creature had just finished devouring it's last meal, which it needed to regrow it's less displeasing appearance. The creature had taken some of the clothes of it's victims and dawned it upon itself to mascaraed as one of the soldiers.

PostSubject: Re: Chapter 6: Tangled Fates   Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 EmptyTue Jul 11, 2017 10:38 am

Frye breathed A sigh of relief once he was back in the safety of his Home.  It was a modest tent.  At least for someone his size.  Smaller Beings might find it quite spacious.  He had a portable cookstove, with a large cauldron on it.  In the corner he had dug a large hole and filled it with water to make a little pond to sleep in.  Before he had left he had filled up the Cauldron with water.  he had hoped to boil the water upon his return and use it to heat his sleeping pond to a comfortable temperature.  However he only had enough water to heat the pond or make soup not both.  So with a sigh he decided to make the soup.

He took some flint and steel from near the cookstove and ignited the burner in the stove.  As the water heated he began stripping  the poor corpse,  he knew the Humes found nakedness undignified, but he was not going to risk dinging his tooth on a belt buckle or scrap of armor.  He had learned that lesson already once.  Then once the hume was declothed he went to work on the sacred rites of gastroburial.  He took from his bag a  medley of spices.  He began sprinkling the spices onto the corpse.  He used his all time favorites, powdered onion, powdered garlic,  powdered mandrake, powdered malboro and of course Adobo.  He knew this would taste amazing.  Once completed he lifted the Hume and with a great heave he tossed the corpse into the water stone sword and all.

The hard part done, he began gathering up the vegetables he was going to chop up and put into what he had dubbed "Stone Sword Soup."

He who is without....

(ignites with burning passion)

Sensing danger, Luc bolts from his bed to defend himself only to find that the threat has vanished into thin air. Standing in front of him, in view of his crimson shaded eyes, was a familiar face. Luc calms himself and mutters out the words... "You...." the person who saved him from almost dying out in the snow, but his what could be the man's intention for coming here. A question that would have to be answered another time, as they are discovered by one of the soldiers.

A dead guard laying bloodied on the floor, a room half torn by his energy blade. Despite not having any hand in the guard's death, Luc felt somewhat in danger as the soldier blew his whistle. His whistle which drew the attention of more soldiers, made the situation even more tense and Luc was on the edge of madness. His attention then turned to the soldier sounding the alarm. He shoved Marlow out of the way and then he proceeded to attempt to cut the Soldier in half to silence him.

PostSubject: Re: Chapter 6: Tangled Fates   Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 EmptyWed Jul 12, 2017 11:04 am

As Marlow peered into Luc's window, he found himself slipping and had to recover, or he'd fall on his head after dropping a full story. Instead, he fumbled, and managed to slip inside the building. Luc was awake, and didn't seem to have much to say. Fine, Marlow decided, he just wanted a place to sleep the rest of the night at least.

Luc's single word sentence was some of the most atrocious manners he'd seen in some time - and this was coming from a boy-thief pick-pocket. The dead-for-no-reason guard disturbed him, but it was the least of his worries right now. He was shoved out of the way, disregarded like trash as Luc began to hack and slash as if he had no care for himself, for life, for anything...

He had had an inkling of worry that killing those guards would just produce more problems, but the thought had left him before he could put a grubby finger on it. Now, with this new alarmed guard, that reality was coming true. They may be facing an entire army returning high on the testosterone of victory. Simply, he didn't want to murder any more than he had to. He didn't want to murder at all. This was senseless. Luc was senseless.

"You're jumped off the sun and into the God of War's ass. You're crazy. I'm out of here. ", Marlow turned and tried to flee out the window. He wanted to go to the top of the building again, where he could hide and observe and be able to run atop the rooftops if he needed to.

TL;DR: Marlow runs away from Luc and this new soldier skirmish

Chapter 6: Tangled Fates

Silenthall
Quest: The Town of Fog

#TheTownofFog #Chapter6 @Durzan @Luc Seifer @Overly Shedding Chocobo @Bozz

It seems as if Luc had fallen into madness completely. He attacked and killed the soldier who was sounding the alarm. Marlow, who came to help Luc, had now left him after seeing what he has become. He had contained his emotions all his life and now all the pain and hatred he had kept was bursting out of him, causing him to lose all self control.

The soldiers arrive at the scene and found only Luc and two dead Ramoan soldiers. Needless to say, Luc was seen by the soldiers but instead of smoldering him with numerous soldiers, the Vice captain had his men stand down. With the captain slain, the remainder of the Ramoan soldiers was left to the hands of Vice Captain Kryso. Even though he was a rank below a Captain, it didn't mean he was weaker. Vice Captain Kryso is one of Ramoa's best skilled swordsmen. He was to be promoted to the position of Captain some years ago but he respectfully declined, stating that he prefers a lower rank because it allows for more fighting.

Chapter 6: Tangled Fates - Page 4 DNXa7r7

The experienced Vice Captain Kyrso knew that Luc was not someone his men could take on. Kyrso was carrying a bag, wet from blood, on his left hand. He loosened the ropes on the bag and tossed it's content at Luc's feet. It was the decapitated head of Borgon, the War Chief of the Delvic horde. This was merely to try and intimidate Luc and to show Luc that he was able to best Borgon.

"I hear you killed 2000 Delvas, that's impressive but let's see how well you fair against someone like me." Immediately after Kyrso finished his sentence, he disappeared in front of Luc's eyes and reappeared behind him with his two swords already drawn and posed to strike down at Luc.

BATTLE EVENT!!

Fight Kyrso! Kyrso will have initiative at the start of the battle.
