Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon

Cid, Yui and the crew of the Sierra were able to reach the Dome of Fontaine in a matter of just under 8 hours. Travelling by airship proved to be the fastest way to get from one point to the other here in this world, not including teleportation. On their way to the Dome, the Seirra passed by the city of Riverun. Even from the sky, the damage done by Agnes and the twins was evident. So parts of the village were completely destroyed. There were huge craters on the ground, indicating a large explosion of some sort.

Cid looked down from the bridge with a worried look. They didn't stop by to give aid to Riverun because Cid was worried that whatever did it might still be around. They continued heading north until they were flying above a large lake surrounded by a ring of mountains.

In the middle of the massive lake were three islands and in the middle island, there as something glimmering from the distance. It was the Dome of Fontaine, a medium sized Shrine built in the middle of an island. Although the original Dome that covered the shrine is already gone, the people of Wrozan still call it the Dome of Fontaine.
Chapter 3: Sleep Scenedome

Meanwhile...

Somewhere near the Sierra. The Twins were trying to avoid flying over the Aflerian domain so from Riverun, they flew over the great lake. The Conjurations also need to be resummoned for they could not last forever. The twins decided to land in one of the uninhabitted islands within the Great Lakes. Incidentally they were spotted by the Sierra after exiting from a cluster of clouds. The first mate was the first to point out the Twins flying in the sky and quickly called his captain's attention. Cid quickly identified the two as the two as Dakgu and Yazgash. The twins were well known bounty hunters and had a reputation even here in Wrozan.

Cid quickly deduced that it was the twins who ruined Riverun afterall not many people had that kind of ability. Cid wasn't looking to pick a fight with the two until he saw what they were hauling. A young girl, barely 18 years of age, who in Cid's eyes was being kidnapped and abused by the Twins. His honor would not allow himself to walk away from bringing to justice to criminals who ever they may be. As a Dragoon and as a Man, he need to take action. "It looks like someone needs our help boys!" Cid said to his crew over the ship's communication device. They replied by cheering courageously.

They kept their distance, making sure the twins didn't notice them and followed the two to the Dome of Fontaine, which was lucky because that's where they were headed too. The twins were setting up camp, Agnes was still asleep but was bound to wake up soon. Meanwhile Cid set the Sierra down some distance from the Twins. He wanted to keep the element of surprise.

"All right Yui. We're going to be fighting some really bad people to save a child are you up for it? If not then you can stay here and guard the ship!" Cid said to Yui.

*Agnes' story will continue here. You can wake up immediately in your entry post. Your demon form is again out of commission and will be for some time.*

Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon

Yui stood from the seat and spun her spear fancifully in response to Cid's question of her readiness, giving him a stern look and a quick nod as she started walking to the main deck.

Her mind wandered a touch as she walked through the ship, memories of the last "child" she had encountered putting a grim look on her face. She felt quite guilty over having to stab the child, but she had no choice.

Regrettably, a familiar voice piped up in Yui's mind. "Hehe. Maybe you'll stab this one too" Ikas said with a chuckle, crossing her legs. Every time Yui would blink or otherwise close her eyes, Ikas would be there with her shit-eating grin, staring at her and giving her usual peanut-gallery comments.

"Truthfully, I hope you do. You need to stop being so dull.." Ikas continued, manifesting a skull in the palm of her hand with a puff of purple/black smoke. She just sat there, manifesting a dagger in the opposite hand and grinding it against the skull.

Yui was curious if one could sharpen metal on bone, but wasn't going to watch Ikas to find out. She needed to focus, since a life was potentially at stake.

Ikas chuckled and continued to run the dagger across the top of the skull, the grinding sound becoming audible in Yui's mind. "Hehe. If you're so interested, you should kill the child and try it with their skull for yourself!" She said with a small laugh and continued "After all, a dull person like you probably has a dull blade!"

Yui shook her head slightly, trying not to become annoyed by Ikas' taunting as she made her way to the main deck.

AGNES NERA

Chapter 3: Sleep
Dome of Fontaine

The cool breeze coming from the north softly touched Agnes' pale and sensitive skin.~ It was the first thing she noticed right after getting knocked out. She didn't like the demon that was inside her body, but with it's help she's escaped a lot of potentially deadly situations. But in her last fight she really felt helpless and weak. Not even in demon form, could she had hoped to defeat the duo. Losing wasn't a pleasant experience for the young girl who's built up a lot of confidence in her abilities.~

The fight wasn't all fruitless because each time Agnes fought a stronger opponent, Agnes only got stronger. And as her powers grow, so does the Demon's. Her wounds have all completely healed. The demon had shared yet another skill with Agnes. Clearly it wanted her to live so that it could continue living inside her.~

Be it the cold iron bars of her portable cell, pressing against her body in a very uncomfortable manner or the rough landing orchestrated by the Twins.~ Agnes had woken up. At first she didn't recognize where they are, but another look around and immediately her years in the classroom helps her discover their present location.~

It seemed that the two Delvas were busy setting up camp. Agnes utilized this opportunity to try and break the cell with her Magic, but she obviously she didn't know it had magic blocking properties. ~ She wasn't proficient in locking picking, nor did she have any usable tools to try.~

Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon

The Twins were not concerned at all with Agnes escaping form her cage. They were excellent trappers and the cage itself is impossible to open without the proper key. The Key was being kept by Dakgu, in a key chain hooked on his waist belt. Aside from using a spell binding cage, they also placed a spell binding collar around Agnes' neck. It was made from solid Delvic Steal and was impossible to unlock without a key. They only needed to rest for a 30 minutes max before they can recover their stamina and continue on with their journey to Arcwind. Fortunately for Cid and his crew, the Twins didn't notice them, yet.

Meanwhile Cid had his first mate assume command while he was away. None of his crew members were excellent fighters so he decided that he wouldn't endanger them by having them come along. He also thought that this might be too dangerous for Yui, so he said, "You should probably stay here and guard the ship. This isn't going to be pretty."

Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon

Yui pulled out a piece of paper and her usual writing tool, scribbling "Alone. Bad choice." onto it and passing it to Cid, before walking past him to get to the main deck. She didn't much care what she was walking into, since a child needed help, but she also wasn't going to let Cid walk into something alone.

Going in alone seemed to get her into trouble constantly, so doing the opposite would clearly be better for herself and Cid both. At least that's what she thought, not having seen any of the carnage the airship had flown over before arriving here.

Yui put her right hand onto her left shoulder and moved her left arm around in a circular motion, stretching it somewhat since she still didn't have full mastery of its sensitivity or anything, trying to get a general feel for it as she stepped out onto the main deck and waited for Cid to catch up.

Cid saw that Yui's resolve could not be deterred. All he could do was shrug his shoulders and hope that the stories about the twins are exaggerated. Cid followed her out the main deck and overtook her off the ship. He had a plan, just in case things didn't go according to plan. "Alright Yui. I need you to listen to me very carefully. In the off chance that we get out assess handed to us, I want you to run back to the ship as fast as you can. Is that understood?"

"I have a plan. One of us will distract them while the other one will free the girl. Do you know how to open a Delvic Lock?" Cid asked.

She nodded at the first question, but had to stop and think for a moment at the second one. Unfortunately, picking locks wasn't part of her stay in Mitchzen so she had no idea how to do so.

She shook her head no and pulled out another piece of paper, writing "No" on one side and displaying it to him before flipping it over and writing "Can break it?" on the other and showing that to him as well. She made a sort of smashing motion with the butt of her spear, in case her writing didn't display her intent.

Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake

Cid shook his head in disagreement. "No no that will never work. Delvic Locks are made from Delvic Steel we'll never be able to break it without using magic. Do you know any magic spells?" Cid asked. They made their way to the Twins camp and kept hidden behind the trees.

They had a good vantage point of the camp and were able to spot Agnes right away. The girl was awake and by the looks of it was trying escape as well. The twins were almost finished cooking a medium sized animal that they had recently caught. Cid hands Yui a skeleton key and says, "Here. It's easy to use just swivel it around the key hole a bunch of time till you get the lock open." Cid knew that there was more to it that just that. But the tool wasn't that hard to use.

"I'll create a distraction while you head over there and help the girl. You got it?"
Cid asked, wanting to know if Yui understood what she needed to do.[/b]

Yui shook her head in response to the question of her knowing any magic, not even sure if she herself could learn any. Looked over the camp from the vantage point when she was handed the skeleton key and given instructions as to how to use it, looking it over briefly before refocusing her attention to him.

She wasn't very fond of Cid going to cause a distraction by himself, but she figured that getting the girl out should be top priority. Plus, it shouldn't take her that long..

Or at least, that's what she thought.

Agnes Nera

Chapter 3: Sleep
Dome of Fontaine

Unable to free herself from her shackles, Agnes begins to feel nervous. Her heart rate and breating increases and she could feel the nerves suffocating her will.~ Fear of death, fear of torture there were a lot of things going on in Agnes' head and it was causing her to go into a state of panic.~ But her mind wasn't going to have it.~ She was a fighter, always was and always will be. To calm her nerves, she took several deep breaths and tried to meditate. If Agnes calmed herself down, she would be able to think of a way out of this sticky situation.~

"I need to stay calm~ There's a way out of this I'm sure.~ I have to take everything one step at a time. First I need to get this collar off~." she said to herself.

Agnes tinkered around with the magic blocking collar. Touching it only made her feel more like a slave or a pet. It wasn't a good feeling, having a collar around your neck, and Agnes was slowly starting to get pissed at the siblings for putting it on her neck.~ It was on her neck pretty tight and it seems like the only way to remove it without a key was to cut off her head.~ The very thought of being decapitated sends chills up and down from Agnes' toes up to her shoulders.~

"Damn~! These things are impossible to get off~! And it's itchy too~!" she said to herself. There wasn't much she could do at this point. But she wasn't about to give up, she knew an opportunity would present itself in the future and she would not hesitate to take it. Even if it means dropping from the sky in order to break the cage.~

Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon & The Twins

After cooking the beast, the two feasted on the animal. They tossed a piece on the ground close to Agnes, it was close enough for her to reach. The floor was sandy though and the piece of meat was filled dirtied with sand and other soils.

Cid saw this as the perfect time to exact their plan. He gave two taps on Yui's shoulder and said, "Okay let's go while those horned devils are still eating." before moving out. He waited for Yui to get in position before he started his diversion. Once Yui was in position, Cid cut down one of the coconut trees in the distance, then another, then another. He was sure the falling of the trees would grab the Twin's attention and surely enough it did.

Dagku got up from his seat and went to investigate on Cid's diversion. Meanwhile Yazgash stayed up and finished her meal.

*Yui now a chance to free Agnes. There are (3) locks in total. 2 locks were located in the cage where Agnes is being kept and the last lock is located in her collar. Even if Agnes escapes the cage, if her collar isn't removed she will not be able to use her Magic.*

CHALLENGE EVENT!

FOR YUI

Roll the Challenge dice to attempt to open the locks. There are 3 locks in total. You have a total of 5 tries before either you are caught. The sooner you complete the challenge, the higher chance Cid will not be caught.

Yui moved to a section of raised ground,  about 3 feet off the ground. She had a small overlook from her position,  allowing her to chart a path through some bushes. She crouched down and waited,  watching until Cid began his distraction.

She watched as the horned man got up and moved to investigate, waiting a brief moment before slowly climbing down from the slightly raised area. She frowned as only the man moved to investigate,  keeping low to the ground and moving from bush to Bush.

She used trees,  rocks,  anything she could to try to remain undetected as she made her way towards the cage..

It would be risky,  but someone needed help.  So what the hell, right? She thought,  looking around cautiously.

Chapter 3: Sleep

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon & The Twins

Dakgu took the stealthy approach. He climbed up the trees and like a monkey, he jumped from one tree to the other to avoid any travelling on the ground. At this rate it won't take him long before he finds out who or what is causing this disturbance.

Meanwhile Cid was sure that he had caught the Twins attention. He circled back and up the mountain, leaving after only cutting down a couple of trees. He knew it wouldn't take long before the Twins get there and realize that someone was in the island with them so he hurried back to the vantage point. Hoping that Yui had already done her job.

Yazgash was finished with her meal. She got up and started scanning the perimeter with her eyes. The Island is filled with all sorts of wild beasts and although none of them would be a match for either of the twins, it was wiser to be on guard should anything out of the ordinary happens

Chapter 3: Sleep
The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon / The Twins

Yui spotted the female stand,  ducking into some taller grass to avoid detection as the woman began scanning the area. She slowed her breathing in order to be as quiet as possible, moving up when the woman's field of view no longer covered the area she was going to be moving through.

It took a small amount of time for her to reach the cage,  only having to pause twice to stay out of sight. She moved around the cage as quietly as she could,  not even letting the girl know of her intentions, figuring her inability to speak wouldn't really help her communicate said intentions.

It didn't take her long to find the first lock, taking the skeleton key from a pouch on her belt and moving it toward the device.  She swirled it around what she thought was the lock, as Cid had told her to do, waiting to see if something happened.

It seemed strange to her,  as magic was typically a foreign concept to her.  She had seen impossible things, sure, but using it herself was a different story.

Agnes Nera

Chapter 3: Sleep
Dome of Fontaine

Those filthy Delva dogs threw a slice of meat at Agnes as if she were a pet. It was rude behavior that Agnes could not condone.~ This insulting gesture infuriates the young mage causing her to stare violently back at the two. She swore that if she ever got out of here, she would tear those two incestuous twins apart like a loaf of freshly baked bread.~ These monsters deserved far worse than what she had intended for them.~ However, Agnes knew that in her current state, she could never hope to defeat the twins. She needed to get stronger and fast.~ Luckily her powers have grown significantly since their encounter in Riverun. It was a unique trait Agnes possessed, whenever she fought a more powerful opponent, her powers also rise to contend with her opponent's.

Just as she was about to yell bad things at the two, a tree fell down from the distance. It was enough to cause the male Delva to become curious and investigate. Agnes felt that something was up. She saw this as an opportunity to escape. Agnes was frantically trying to pull the lock apart, a futile effort but at least she was trying something~!

Then out of the blue, a wild red haired girl appeared from out the bushes. Agnes was surprised and jumped back from in her cell. The girl didn't say anything~ probably because she was a savage or sorts and was illiterate. Her hair was messy and full of twigs~ She obviously lacked in the art of self maintenance and beautification.~ At this point Agnes didn't pay any heed to savage's clothing, her armor and stuff.~ She was more focused on what the girl's facial appearance.~

This savage woman was playing with cell's lock~! And miraculously, using a stick like object that resembles a key, she was able to pop-open one of the locks~! Agnes cheered with glee~! "Yes that's right do it again~!"

Agnes picked up the slice of meat on the ground and offered it to the savage girl as a reward for opening the locks~! "Here you can have this if you open that other lock~!"

Chapter 3: Sleep
The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon / The Twins

Yui was confused by the girls offering of meat,  looking up and down the door slowly. She was far too focused on her current objective to care about the sticks in her hair. She found a second lock a little higher along the door, lifting the key up toward the second lock.

She paused but for a moment, raising her opposite hand up and placing a finger over her own lips. She was trying to indicate to the girl to remain quiet, noticing that there was a small lock on the collar around the girls neck. She wondered if the key would work on it as well, shooting the girl a quick smile before turning her attention back to the lock.

She swirled the key around the lock on the door, watching it intently with the hope it would unlock as easily as the first.

The Great Lake
Path of the Dragoon & The Twins

Yui had successfully unlocked the first lock but it seems the pressure has finally gotten into her and she failed on her attempt to open the second lock. Very close by there is a chest on the ground, probably belonging to the twins. Yui could reach it and try to unlock it with the Skeleton Key Cid gave her but it would cost her precious time.

Meanwhile, Dakgu was already in the site were Cid cut down the trees. Looking at the portion where the trees were cut and it was clear that it was made by weapon. Dakgu didn't search for the culprit, instead he quickly made his way back to the camp to guard their cargo.

*Yui has one attempt left before Dakgu returns to the camp*

Yui frowned as the second lock failed to open, using her free hand to pull herself up along the cage slightly, giving her a closer view of the lock itself. She shifted her grip on the key so that she was holding it at one end, keeping it secure with the tips of three of her fingers as she tried to line it up as perfectly as possible with the lock.

She took a deep breath and exhaled softly, moving the key in a circular motion around the lock in a counter-clockwise fashion. The circle became smaller and smaller as she tightened the circle, moving the key towards the center of the lock with each full rotation.

Yui wasn't entirely sure how it worked, but she felt that maybe she needed to focus more. She stared at the lock rather intently, hoping deep down that the stupid thing would release like the first had done before.

After all, she couldn't exactly do this all day..
