Marlow gave two last jabs of his toothpick of a short sword in the second sailor's direction, hoping it would be enough to down the man, before turning his last strike towards the first man's direction. The man wouldn't quit so the best Marlow could do was hope the man would let common sense take hold so Marlow wouldn't be held for homocide charges. He felt he was too young to worry about dropping any soap!

Marlow breathed a sigh of relief when the next blow he took wasn't doubly hurtful because it was from two people. But it still freakin hurt! He sacrificed some footing detail to roughly guess he might be able to endure about five more rounds of being battered around by this sturdy sailor who seemed more like a tree-trunk with a face than a man. And equally as unattractive.

Marlow swore under his breath when he missed one of his swings and tried to concentrate more. Fortunately, it threw him off enough that his opponent's blow just barely glanced the wind over his shoulder. He was tired, and at this rate he felt there was a very real possibility of loosing. Right now he wanted to go off and lick his wounds only slightly less than he wanted to win, so he perservered still.

He managed to stumble and miss a flying fist to his face - that one surely would have knocked a tooth out. The realization dawned that he was about to beat up not one but two grown men! At once! And boy was he beginning to feel cocky. A giddy second wind gave him enthusastic energy.
