| New Player's GuideWhat we areWe are a no word-count paragraph (forum) roleplay, based on a re-imagined Final Fantasy, for any writer who has a good enough grasp of English (including non-native English writers) so that spelling and grammar is a non-issue. How we are differentWe are a moderated adventure, with stat fights, so we effectively have static-timing (not liquid). Because of the amount of work adventures take, each player is only allowed to have one character. If you do not like your character, you can put them aside and make a new character at your current EXP, without having to start over at level 1. While there are some safe-guards and warnings and the opportunity to run away, it is possible for a character to die in battle. We have a non-cannon section for characters to train defeating monsters and earning EXP without the consequences of death. We also have a gambling section. Our plot & speciesThe Old Gods have been imprisoned, the world is more stable, a human plane from Earth crashed in Qin-country, nations are at war, and chaos abounds. Playable Species are as follows. See Ish'in's signature for a picture of the races.
- Human
- Delva : horned, white-haired, metallic-skinned, gigantic race
- Alfeir : an old race of elvish-like, long-lived, and secluded folk
- Qin : animal-like folk in a variety of types (nyanquin cat-people the most featured)
(more: plot, map, species)How to join(1) Register your account as your player alias (2) Suggested readings list: (3) Make your character (application here) and wait for approval (4) Optionally, introduce yourself (here)(5) Watch the (general discussion thread: Your FFMSL Character). It's how we communicate to drop quick notes, sometimes instead of PMs.

| New Player Tips
When you create your character, try to create a flawed being, someone who has hopes and fears and problems. When the character has unresolved issues in their application, that provides leverage for us to explore the topic (if you like) during the roleplay to help your character develop and grow.
Our story moderators are primarily concerned with helping you to have fun. If you aren't liking the story, if you have a particular idea on where to go with your character development, if you'd like to explore a concept, or even if you have a general question about building your character, contact your moderator. We are here to assist you in all things. : )
When you are settled in, you will want to begin reading the story-lines of other members, of the world and lore, and of the locations. You are not just a character, you are part of an entire story that affects everyone. This vastly differs from the more common roleplays where roleplay threads are based on character interactions and the drama between them - here, you will not be interacting in a coffee-shop, but entangled in the web of the universe for good or for bad, and all of it affecting everyone else and the fate of the universe. The staff team have a plan for your character, and you will (eventually) have larger than life opportunities to help save or destroy this world. So, it is important if you are unsatisfied to talk to your mod, so we can help you. Everything is mutable, nothing is set in stone.
STS is our solo monster training system. It is great for leveling up between your normal adventure posts. If you are wanting to catch up to someone else, this is how you do it. If you are confused, look at other member's STS to get an idea of how it works. Don't forget about the free starter potions, and the double EXP for characters under level 50.
Respec (re-stat) tokens are very, very rare, so the way you build your character's stats and skills will be the way that they are for a very long time. Having a plan (a "build") for your character's attribute and skill points can be incredibly helpful.
Make use of the Watch This Topic for Replies button - it sends you an alert (top right corner) when your thread has a reply. This is especially handy for watching your moderated adventure thread.
You are not just a passenger. You're not really here to 'be along for the ride' and passively react to everything your mod plans for you, you should be an active participant too. Suggest things, help create your own direction, talk with your mod. Just like a Choose Your Own Adventure book.
