Stats

Health Points (HP)- Health points, also known as hit points (or HP), damage points, heart points, or just health (among other synonyms), is a finite value used to determine how much damage (usually in terms of physical injury) a character can withstand. When a character is attacked, or is hurt from a hazard or fall, the total damage dealt (which is also represented by a point value) is subtracted from their current HP. Once their HP reaches 0, the character will be unable to fight. In role-playing games, health is often abbreviated as "HP".

Stamina Points (STM)- Stamina is needed if you want to use skills, magic, or special abilities.

Strength (STR)- Strength is a finite value used to determine how much damage (usually in terms of physical) a character can do to a target.

Magic (MAG)- Magic is a finite value used to determine how much damage (usually in terms of magical) a character can do to a target.

Defense (DEF)- Defense is a finite value used to determine how much damage you can subtract from the damage taken from a PHYSICAL attack.

Magic Defense (DEF)- Defense is a finite value used to determine how much damage you can subtract from the damage taken from a MAGICAL attack.

Stat Growth

Stat growth in Dragon's Dogma RPG is influenced by Vocation. Upon levelling up, each stat will gain an increase in a pattern determined by the current Vocation of a character. The stat increases vary for each vocation in a way that mostly benefits their playstyle and continued use. It is worth noting that the offensive and defensive potential of each Vocation is not just reliant on stats, as the Armor, Weapons and Skills available differ for each Vocation.

Weapon and Armor

Weapons add to either STR or MAG, while Armors add to DEF.

The number of attacks you throw in one turn is determined by your weapon.
For example:
Sword A (+100STR ATTACK 1)
as compared to,
Sword B (+50STR ATTACK 3)

Armors are in SETS and each set can be upgraded to a certain limit. Each armor will increase your DEF stat, which allows you to subtract more damage from your opponent's attacks.
